Response, Recovery, Resilience!

In the following pages, you will discover how Boys & Girls Clubs of Northeast Texas continues to be at the frontlines while achieving our mission of enabling all young people to reach their full potential.

Just like you, the Boys & Girls Clubs of Northeast Texas has had to adapt to the daily challenges we faced throughout 2020. We’re proud of our staff and board who served the children and families. We believe there is no better way to acknowledge their accomplishments than to share their positive impact with you.

Since the start of the pandemic, Boys & Girls Clubs of Northeast Texas has done whatever it takes to make sure our Club children and families received critical services during this unprecedented time of need. Immediately after schools closed in mid-March 2020, our staff was on the frontlines of the response efforts by providing curbside meal service to the neediest children in our communities. We also provided food bags to supplement meals over the weekend. In less than six months, these emergency food programs served more than 5,000 meals.

With children stuck at home from March through August, it was important for our Club members to receive the daily support and mentoring services our Clubs offer. Our staff went to work creating a virtual Club experience that allowed our members to interact with the Club staff that they know and love while enjoying live and on-demand programming five days a week.

In September, Boys & Girls Clubs of Northeast Texas reopened for direct services to our Club youth in support of our communities recovery efforts. Adopting the strictest CDC guidelines to keep our youth and staff safe, our after-school program allowed youth to socialize with their peers safely.

As the pandemic continues, the Boys & Girls Clubs of Northeast Texas has added supplemental services like all-day programming during school closures and continued virtual programming to those in quarantine. Thanks to the resilience of our staff and supporters, Clubs are open as long and as often as possible.

Three words sum up our response to the challenge of 2020: RESPONSE, RECOVERY, and RESILIENCE. We realize more challenges are ahead.

We will not be going back to normal. We will have to be better than ever.

With your support, Boys & Girls Clubs of Northeast Texas will continue to do whatever it takes for our most vulnerable and deserving youth.
